our creations...

Nicolas Cloiseau, chef-creator at La Maison du Chocolat, and Benjamin Kuentz, French whisky editor, have combined their expertise to create the Alchimie Chocolat Whisky chocolate bar with an intense whisky taste, matured in oak barrels and alcohol-free (traces 0.5%). Their secret? The bar's pure Grenada and Ecuador chocolate, poured hot into a barrel just emptied of its whisky, absorbs the aromas captured in the wood and takes on the aromatic strength of the spirit. In tune with the times, our two designers have signed this innovation with the firm intention of shaking up the codes of chocolate-spirit combinations. On the palate, a powerful, tangy fragrance of velvety dark chocolate with citrus notes and a whisky impression, without alcohol (traces 0.5%). Contains gluten.

Tasting

Our chocolates are best appreciated at room temperature. We advise that you cut your chocolate in two and let it melt in the mouth to allow time for the flavors to develop. When you are tasting several chocolates, it is best to start with a plain chocolate, then move on to flavored varieties: first those with fruits, then spices, then alcohol.

Craftsmanship, gourmet treats and incredible uniformity 

By maturing liquid chocolate in oak barrels for several weeks, the Alchimie bar is impregnated with the taste of whisky imprinted in the wood. Cast hot into a barrel just emptied of its whisky, the chocolate's contact with the wood absorbs its aromas and takes on the spirit's aromatic strength. Echoing the smoky taste of Benjamin Kuentz's whisky, Nicolas Cloiseau blends two pure cocoa origins: the spicy temperament of cocoa from Grenada Island with the woody nature of Ecuador. 
Created in 2016, Maison Benjamin Kuentz produces French whiskies. In search of the best artisans, Benjamin Kuentz explores the four corners of France to meet men and women, grain farmers and distillers, who work with passion and ethics.

All the chocolates at La Masion are incredible, first discovered them in Paris what seems a lifetime ago, but this is exceptional. All the way from the nose to the after taste, the subtleties are so wonderful. I will need at least one more to just figure out the circus of flavors going on in my mouth!
